Reiki Healing

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

After nearly 2 decades of chronic illness due to Crohn's Disease, Fibromyalgia and Gastroparesis which left me unable to work, on strong pain medication and unable to digest food. I was drawn reluctantly to Carmela Pollock from Soulworks Essential Therapies through my sister. I had tried every method of treatment and given up on ever living a normal life again. I was fairly certain that Reiki would not be a viable solution; however, after a few visits of Reiki I had such drastic improvement that I was able to eat and digest food and reduce my pain medication by half. It was such a profound experience that left my family and friends in disbelief. I know there are so many people like me with chronic illness who have been abandoned by doctors because there is no further treatment options available. I knew in my heart that I need to learn and share Reiki with others to show people that there is another treatment available. I completed my Level 2 Practitioners course with Carmela and currently training for the next year to complete my Masters.

My Reiki style is trained on the original Japanese method created by Mikao Usui - founder of Usui Shiko Ryoho System of Healing. With my musical background, I was also drawn to use the tool of sound to aid in my healing sessions. I Incorporate the wonderful Biofield tuning forks which use sound and vibration - found to help calibrate your field and energise your energy centers. leaving you feeling relaxed, charged and centered. Aromatherapy and the use of Crystals are also my prefered instruments to facilitate healing during a session.
